About this course

As nurses, we have to recognize and understand how we should act as patient advocates for our pediatric patients, especially when there are signs and symptoms of child abuse and neglect. This course will help you understand what child abuse looks like in the real world and what we can do to help them and their families to develop healthier habits and behaviors.

Patricia Dunn DNP, APRN, FNP-BC is a Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse and 20 years as a Registered Nurse. She has served as an APRN for Florida Pain Institute, Heart Rhythm Associates of Brevard, House Calls of Central Florida. She earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Walden University, Minneapolis.
