Traditionally, opioids have been the primary treatment for acute postoperative pain. However, concerns about opioid misuse have prompted a shift towards exploring alternative pain management approaches.
This course delves into the consequences of inadequate pain control, highlighting the heightened risk of chronic pain and patient dissatisfaction. Participants will understand the importance of optimizing postoperative pain management for better immediate results, shorter hospital stays, and improved overall patient satisfaction. Patricia Dunn DNP, APRN, FNP-BC is a Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse and 20 years as a Registered Nurse. She has served as an APRN for Florida Pain Institute, Heart Rhythm Associates of Brevard, House Calls of Central Florida. She earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Walden University, Minneapolis.
